WE ARE MCAS SPECIALISTS
We understand the complex challenges when it comes to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) in the context of diagnosis, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical interventions. But what happens when standard treatments become ineffective?
While standard interventions are helpful they often focus on masking or suppressing symptoms as opposed to trying to identify why MCAS is present in the first place.

UNDERDIAGNOSED
"According to a 2016 study in The American Journal of Medical Sciences the median time to diagnosis of MCAS is 30 years"

PROPOSED TRIGGERS
Immune system dysregulation
Psychoneurological effects
Environmental triggers
MAINSTREAM INTERVENTIONS
Focuses on symptoms suppression using medications and a low histamine diet
WHAT IS HIT AND MCAS
In mainstream healthcare Histamine Intolerance (HIT) and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) are differentiated into are two distinct medical conditions that are commonly referred to as the result of an abnormal response to histamine.
HIT is a condition where the body struggles to break down histamine, a compound involved in immune responses and digestion, leading to symptoms like headaches, hives, digestive issues, nasal congestion, or fatigue. It often results from low levels of the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO), which normally degrades histamine, or from consuming histamine-rich foods like aged cheese, fermented products, or alcohol.
MCAS occurs when mast cells, a type of immune cell, become overactive and release excessive amounts of histamine PLUS other inflammatory substances in response to triggers that would not normally cause a reaction. Histamine intolerance on the other hand is a condition in which the body has difficulty breaking down histamine. You can experience histamine intolerance and MCAS in combination to each other or you can experience one or the other condition on their own.
